Cariba Heine is a South African-born Australian actress and dancer born in Johannesburg to parents Michelle, a former showgirl, and Kevin Heine. She moved to Australia at the age of three with her parents and older brother. Her early days included training in jazz, tap, classical ballet, acrobatics and rhythmic gymnastics. She began dancing professionally at the age of 15 though a career-ending hip injury resulted in a shift into acting. Since falling in love with a more literal medium of story-telling, Cariba has continued working both in front and behind cameras and in other creative fields. Caridad (which means "charity" in Spanish) is a Los Angeles-based actress and writer, originally from New York City. Frequenting the Growing Stage theatre as a child, and later attending the Grammy-winning McCallum Fine Arts Academy in Austin, Texas, Caridad has always been a performer. After graduating from Bard College with a BA in both film and creative writing, she began her professional career. Caridad has starred in several award-winning indie dramas, often depicting troubled young women.
