Major (Retired) Terrence "Ty" Manns enlisted into the U.S. military in 1980 and commission Army 2LT Regular Army, Infantry from the Army ROTC program at Wright-State University, Dayton, Ohio. in 1989. Ty served as an Army Infantry Officer in tactical worldwide from 1989 until his retirement in 2003. Throughout his military and corporate career, Ty never lost his passion for storytelling, creativity, and filmmaking. In 1999, Ty met friend, colleague, and mentor Rick Bieber, former President of HBO Pictures. Through Rick's support and mentoring, Ty's filmmaking knowledge and writing experience grew. In 2013 he formed "Ty Manns Productions" under which he penned the hit faith-based film "A Question of Faith". After the 2017 theatrical release of "A Question of Faith", Ty joined forces with Bishop Charles Mackie to form Manns Mackie Studios, a family & faith-based media content, and production company. Under their Manns Mackie Studios banner, they produced the February 2021 BET Plus Original Film "Redeemed" co-written and Directed by Ty and the Collide Distribution and Universal Studios distributed March 2021 theatrical release of the feature film "My Brother's Keeper" written and executive produced by Ty. He will perform as executive producer for Arkansas based film production company UP2U Films for their May 2021 production of the feature film "Running The Bases" and Ty will write, produce and direct a Chicago based production company's feature film "$1200 dollars and a Wish" in September 2021. Ty holds a BA degree in Business Communications and an MBA in Operations Management (with a marketing concentration). Ty and his wife Mia are celebrating 25 years of marriage in 2021. They have two sons, Marine Corps 2LT Delone Manns (24) (pronounced De-Lawn) and senior Army ROTC cadet Matthew Manns (21).
