Originally from St. Louis, MO, Tanya was an overachiever at an early age. A high school valedictorian and Summa Cum Laude/Phi Beta Kappa graduate from St. Louis University's theatre program, Tanya also received a two-year certification in Musical Theatre at AMDA-New York. In the 90's, Tanya appeared in dozens of musicals and stage plays, booking her first national tour in 'The Wiz' (1997) with entertainment great, Grace Jones. She would then work Off-Broadway in 'In Dahomey' (1999) at Woody King's New Federal Theatre and claim a role on the ever-popular 'Law & Order: SVU' (2000). Tanya Allen was born in Toronto in 1975. She developed a love of acting young and at fifteen attended the prestigious American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City.
